Community raises concerns about ST3 bus lanes coming to LFP

We support Sound Transit’s Bus Rapid Transit project that is coming to Lake Forest Park.

An updated public transit system is a vital part of regional actions to fight climate change. In our area, a majority of voters supported the concept of Sound Transit 3 when it was proposed in 2016.

However, as the project has progressed and new designs were unveiled for the Lake Forest Park segment of the SR522 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), concern has grown that it will have undue impacts on the environment and quality of life here.

LFP Citizens have long shown dedication to the protection of our urban forest, streams, and lake shore; this strong environmental ethic is at the core of what makes our small town special.
